The board of Trustees is committed to ensuring that our governance arrangements are effective and relevant. As part of both that commitment and our desire for continuous improvement, the board will work to the Charity Governance Code as appropriate. Selected for their expertise, the trustees all give their time and energy for free to lead the Affordable Health Initiative.

Dr. Kris Gibbon-Walsh, PhD

Kris is a multi-award winning, Not-For-Profit leader and senior manager. Currently the Head of Network Partnerships at FareShare, Kris has overseen the development and implementation of strategies for huge growth and consistent customer engagement and service across the 10,000 charities across the UK. Kris has a PhD in Environmental Engineering and has previously lived and worked in several countries across the world.

Dr Caroline Pankhurst, BSc PhD BDS MSC MRCPath (Specialist in Oral Microbiology)

Dr Caroline Pankhurst is a dentist and Specialist in Oral Microbiology and was formerly a Senior Lecture in Oral Microbiology at King’s College London Dental Institute. She has published extensively in the fields of oral medicine, oral microbiology, and dental unit waterlines including two books on infection control namely “Control of Infection Guidelines for General Dental Practice ” & “Basic Guide to Prevention and Infection Control in Dentistry” the second edition was published in 2017. She is actively involved in postgraduate dental education and was a finalist in the e- Learning Awards 2012. She served two terms on the SAC in Medical Microbiology, Royal College of Pathologists. Caroline was a member of Editorial Boards of “Primary Dental Care” & BMC Oral Health, and President of the BDA Metropolitan Branch in 2006. She served two terms as an elected member on the BDA Central Committee for Dental Academic Staff & is a Council member of the BDA Metropolitan Branch. She is a Trustee of the medical charity the Fungal Infection Trust.

Felipe Tirado, MPhil

Felipe is a Brazilian human rights lawyer. He is currently completing an LL.M. at the Dickson Poon School of Law and holds an M.Phil. in Law from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). He is an associate researcher at the Study Centre on Transitional Justice (UFMG) and an Editor at the King's Student Law Review (KSLR). Previously, he had been a research assistant for Prof. Octavio Ferraz at the Dickson Poon School of Law, and a researcher at the Latin American Transitional Justice Network. Felipe also worked as an adviser for the Minas Gerais Truth Commission and as a lawyer in Brazil, where he is a member of the Human Rights Commission of Minas Gerais’ Section of the Brazilian Bar Association.
